You always want to be playing your best when it matters most. And the boys of 18 Elite certainly accomplished that in 2019. They finished the most important tournament of the year, Junior Nationals, with an 8-2 record, and came home with some serious hardware around their necks--bronze medals.
"Those boys really know how to work. They also know how to compete. They learned all year and worked their hardest. No doubt about it. Paid off for them. Think it'll be something they'll never forget," said head coach Taase Mose.
18 Elite started out the tournament a perfect 7-0, taking down solid teams in A5, The HBC, and Adverity before eventually dropping two matches to Southport and SPVB respectfully.
"While we won a lot of games and it was an incredible finish, I think the thing they'll remember most is how much fun and how much of a team they were. Those are the things that matter in the end. Also, nice to get a medal though. Especially when it's the last tournament of their youth careers. Good luck to all of them with everything in life. It was a team I had a blast coaching full of a bunch of great boys. Know they'll be successful at whatever they end up doing," concluded Mose.
